Representative Player Obligations

Our Association believes that players who play representative basketball should be cognisant of the fact that they are not just representing themselves, but their families, their team, their Club, their School, their community and as such, need to exhibit behaviours that reflect this sacred responsibility. All representative players and their families must adhere to our Association’s Code of Conduct as well as those codes and rules set by Basketball NSW and Basketball Australia. There will be zero tolerance for any representative player who does not take these obligations seriously, or adhere to the agreed code of conduct.

Training is mandatory, even if the player is injured, so that the player is present while new skills are being taught. Obviously, if a player is injured, they are expected to listen, learn and participate with their attitude but not take the court until they are able to do so again.

All representative players are expected to review, acknowledge and adhere to the Code of Conduct and KBA Framework outlined in the 2023 Representative Handbook, as well as adhere to all policies and procedures mandated by Basketball NSW and Basketball Australia.
