Representative Player Costs

Playing representative sport is costly, no matter what sport it is. At Kempsey Basketball, we do try to keep costs as close to the actual cost it takes to deliver the program. We also do considerable fundraising and apply for grants to help those who should participate in representative sport, but due circumstance, might face barriers to participating in such a program. Our representative player costs include:

  • Game fees charged by BNSW across season

  • Coaching accommodation costs

  • Referee accommodation and meal allowance costs

  • Representative training court hire and coaching costs
(This is minimal, to keep costs down for parents. Most of this cost is donated to KBA by Kempsey & Macleay Valley Sports Association)

  • Player Kit (training gear, bag, hoodie etc)
(Player kit does not include representative singlet and shorts - these are loaned to player by KBA after payment of a deposit which is returned to player once season completed and player returns clean uniform to KBA).

  • Additional tournament costs (non-mandatory)

There are multiple ways to pay off Representative costs, including payment plans, donating time to help fundraise, credit card, cash etc. An invoice will be emailed to each representative player’s family as soon as possible.

Players who do not meet their financial commitments may be removed from teams either temporarily or permanently. Cases of financial hardship should be brought to the attention of the representative coordinator as early as possible so that potential solutions can be discussed, not after players have been removed from the team.

The cost for a Kempsey Basketball Representative player (payable to Kempsey Basketball Association) in 2023 is $500.00.

The cost for a Kempsey Basketball Representative Development player (payable to Kempsey Basketball Association) in 2023 is $250.00.
